and what did you do on your vacation...

I know that is the question I will get next week when I go back to work. Well... I've done plenty this week. Clean the house, shop for food, go to lunch with friends and dinner with Scott a couple of times this week. But the main focus this week was to get myself in gear and get things made for my store on etsy.

I wanted to try out a few new designs that has been on my mind for a while. Like lace ornaments for Christmas. I've done the machine embroidery for 4 differnet ones; angels, balls, star and snowmen, but finished the hand sewing on the angels last night. That's what is shown in the pic's. Now to decide which of my sites I'm going to put them on. The angel I've actually been able to make a smaller size, so we'll see.

I've gotten another Halloween Pillowcase Dress made that is a layered twirl in orange and black. The dress is 100% cotton in all our favorite patterns. Pumpkin and ghost, moon and stars, candy corn and the ever favorite bats. I've used 5 different patterns for this dress and the most fun is the lace buttons that I made from cute embroidery.com. I was amazed as how pretty they turned out. With the new laws going into effect in Feb 2010 I needed to come up with something to replace all those buttons that I use on my projects.
Well I'm still playing and learning how to do the blog thing so stay tuned.
Ruth

Lovely ornaments! Maybe you could use wood buttons! That's what I do now. I found some really cool ones and finish them off with beeswax myself!
